Ping Tool 1.1 does not support the feature you mentioned, we will consider to add "save log file" in the future version, then you can save all history data.

However, you can protract saving times via adjust the Options. Please select "Delay Betwen PINGs" to the max. 10s, then it can keep a 13.8 hours logs. Select "Poll Interval" to the max. 5s, then it can keep a 500 hours logs.

Usually people may use the ping tool as a command line interface based software. So they type in the command "Ping x.x.x.x" or "Ping www.google.com" to start the process. But it is not exactly the same thing. The ping tool itself is already the command Ping. What users should do is just input the destination address like 192.168.0.1 or www.google.com and then Enter. The whole inputed value will be deemed as a IP address or a domain name. So if you input "Ping www.google.com", you are actually trying the command :Ping "Ping www.google.com".

Well, actually the time out is a relative conception. It depends on how much time you have defined for time out. By default the ping tool has value 500ms for time out which mean if the echo reply packet did not received in 500ms after the echo request send, it is a time out. You can easy set a longer value for it like 1000ms 1900ms. This is ultimately customizable, and easy for management.

The "packet size" option is used for customize the packet size as it was named. Sometimes it is necessary for users to detect the MTU on a path without new icmp format (MTU disovery capable).

The 32byte packet is exactly illegal to ethernet, but it is going to be padded by the NIC when sending to the network.

Address transmitted means how many times the ping tool will try to resolve the host/domain name for the inputed words. It is the amount of host or domain resolution, range from 1 to 5. After 5 times resolution failed, it is gonna give up.

"Poll Interval" means the refresh interval of graph, range from 100 to 5000. If you want the graph changes synchronized with the exact traffic come and go, just set it as low as possible. Consequently this may cost more system resource like cpu untilization. Otherwise if you just wanna make it a long term and not that right in time, You set it highter.

Users can type in multiple destination addresses and start multipe session to ping different targets simutaneiously. You should input IP addresses and domain name into the address pane, separate each other with a blank space, comma or semicolon, then clicks the Start Ping button to execute ping command. After this, you can see multiple ping session displayed on the same frame. It is good for comparison.

The "TTL" value indicating how many times can this packet be layer 3 forwarded. When the packet go through a layer 2 switch, it remains, while a layer 3 device, it reduce by 1. The higher the value is, the further it can be forwarded. However, the utmost value is 255. If you know clear about it, you can use it to test how far (logical hops) the destination is. If you have no conception about this, just keep it defaut.
